What is EFT Tapping?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. EFT is a practical self-help technique that involves using the fingers to gently tap on the body's acupuncture points along the meridian lines of Chinese medicine. It is a form of emotional acupuncture without the needles. It is often referred to as ‘EFT Tapping’ or simply as ‘Tapping’. Emotional Freedom Techniques is known as a form of modern psychology counselling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy. The therapeutic effects of this technique are recognized around the world. EFT is a truly remarkable life changing tool as it is practical, hands-on and easy to apply, anyone can learn and use it, even children.

How does EFT Tapping work?

EFT Tapping helps us tune in to the negative patterns that we form around our negative thoughts, feelings and memories. EFT appears to affect the amygdala of the brain (the stress center of the brain) and the hippocampus (memory center) and both play a role in whether you decide something is a negative or a threat to you. By shifting energy in the body while tapping, this in effect changes the way the brain processes information about an issue that feels stressful or negative emotionally. Tapping is like rewiring the brain to process information differently by circuit breaking the previous negative response to the issue to a more positive one. EFT is very effective in changing or improving limiting belief systems or negative behavior patterns that inhibit a person to live their best life of health, wealth, peace and happiness.
